BigDog vs Asimo

Could this be the future of warfare?
Imagine in the not too distant future (2012) that the planet Earth is ruled by the countries who possess the most advanced robot soldier technology. It will be a new world where all the battles will be done using robots and androids. Some will be remotely controlled by a joystick jockey in some comfortable (air conditioned) office. And others will be completely autonomous robots which only need to come back to the base for mission or software updates. I predict two Robot Superpowers will emerge and they will be Japan and the United States. In my little scenario I see a relatively peaceful world divided between the two superpowers.

However, there will still be skirmishes along the border regions.
