Robot Skateboard?

Above is a video of the latest Segway personal transportation device. Notice the direction the wheels rotate. Sometimes they rotate in a way in the normal way like an automobile, but other times they rotate counter intuitive to what you would expect. In other words, it looks like the robot is sliding on ice and the wheels are just spinning in place. However, when you take a closer look at the wheel you can see that it's a bit more complicated than your standard tire.
